New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. knows how valuable of a commodity he is to his team, and he wants a fresh new contract to showcase that.

While most players in the same position would hold out of training camp to leverage themselves for a new contract, that doesn't seem to be the route that Beckham is taking. Today (Sat. June 16, 2018) OBJ hosted a football camp and got the opportunity to speak to reporters.

When asked if we'd see Beckham in training camp, OBJ's response was a simple one (quotes via Pro Football Talk):

“Yes, you will,” Beckham answered.

When asked to clarify if he'd hold out, Beckham confirmed he would not be holding out:

“No holdout,” he said.

While he may be around for training camp, the question remains if Beckham will be a full participant. Beckham has just been cleared to practice after recovering from a broken leg that ended his season last year.

Beckham didn't do a lot during the Giants' mandatory mini camp. Should he show up to training camp to avoid getting fined, he could simply say he doesn't feel ready to practice until the Giants deliver him a new contract.

During his first three seasons in the NFL, Beckham has come in just shy of hauling in 1,500 yards a year and has caught some of the most ridiculous touchdowns in recent years.

Last year he was only able to get through four games. He caught 25 passes for 302 yards and three touchdowns before breaking his leg.

Now the 25-year-old is looking to bounce back with a big season and hopefully earn himself a big contract with the Giants.

In a recent interview, new Giants coach Pat Shurmur had this to say about OBJ (via ESPN):

"I think we're just still getting to know each other," Shurmur said of what he's learned about Beckham this spring.

"But I've said it before: This guy loves to play football, and he gets it as well.

"So, when I see him in the meetings, when I see him on the field, regardless of what he's doing, he's really engaged and you can see, just by him running routes versus air and some of the drill work we're doing, that he can really help us."
