The topic of a professional wrestling return for WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels has been a hot topic of discussion amongst the WWE community lately.

In recent interviews The Heartbreak Kid has said that wrestling is a young man's sport and if he did return to the squared circle fans shouldn't expect the Shawn Michaels they remembered before he retired.

Michaels retired several years ago when he lost his retirement match to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26 in Arizona. He has held up his end of the bargain lately, but there are a ton of fans calling for his return.

With AJ Styles being WWE Champion and being in the company now, and Daniel Bryan being back from injury, there are plenty of great potential match-ups for Michaels waiting on the horizon.

Reinvigorated

Michaels has been working with the young stars of NXT as a trainer at the Performance Center. He's helping shape the future of WWE by working with stars such as Aleister Black, Velveteen Dream, Adam Cole and many more.

With his work going on in NXT, it looks like this could be a motivating factor for a potential in-ring return for The Heartbreak Kid.

Triple H recently did an interview with Sky Sports and revealed that Michaels working with young NXT stars could have reinvigorated the desire in him to wrestle again (quotes via Ringside News):

“He's [Michaels] gone back and forth on this a million times I think.

"But I think being involved with the Performance Center [and] NXT, there's something about these young guys and girls being hungry and there’s this drive and desire that reinvigorates everybody that goes down there.

“Especially guys who have been in the business a long time say being around them relights their fire and the passion you have for this when you first start.

"I think that's where he is and what has made him think differently about this."
