As of this writing, Money in the Bank takes place tonight in Chicago, and the excitement finally culminates with some epic matches going ahead.

In what has proven to be a stacked card, fans are going to see who leaves Illinois with the championship titles - and which two lucky stars are going to be chasing the world titles on either Monday Night RAW or SmackDown LIVE when we crown a Mr and Ms Money in the Bank.

MONEY IN THE BANK

As always, the sense of unpredictability makes the event unmissable, and that's helped by the fact that both ladder matches feature incredible talent where it's difficult to pick out exactly who is going to win. Although, the betting odds tend to give fans a better indication of who will emerge victorious.

Despite it being as exciting as the Royal Rumble to some extent, we don't usually see significant returns take place at this pay-per-view. Although, this is changing slightly this year as all signs seem to be pointing towards a James Ellsworth return.

The chinless wonder who burst onto the scene from out of nowhere was released by the WWE in late 2017, despite him claiming that there were some big plans for him.

Ellsworth was initially booked for an event in China on the same day, suggesting that he won't be back in WWE because of the unfortunate timing. However, Ellsworth pulled out of that appearance, and a return is on the card for tonight.

Ellsworth had stolen the headlines at Money in the Bank before, where he helped Carmella become the inaugural Ms Money in the Bank by unhooking the briefcase himself. Naturally, that created a lot of negative press as the WWE was in the middle of a women's revolution, so having a male create history in a women's match perhaps wasn't the wisest move.

TITLE MATCH

Now, Cageside Seats has revealed what the company has planned for Ellsworth when he returns.

According to the source, Ellsworth won't be anywhere near the ladder match, but instead, he's going to re-align himself with Carmella as she defends the SmackDown Women's Championship against Asuka.

With Asuka still a huge threat with a great record, it's expected that an Ellsworth interference will ensure Carmella retains the gold while The Empress of Tomorrow isn't made to look incredibly weak.

It's clear that Carmella benefits as a heel by having an annoying and cowardly Ellsworth bouncing around her to irritate the fans, so his role could undoubtedly help her title reign.

Although, it remains to be seen how the world will react if and when Ellsworth has another considerable impact at Money in the Bank by altering the result.
