One of the most promising teams in the Eastern Conference at the moment is the Philadelphia 76ers thanks to the talented youngsters which they have on their roster.

Lead by Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, the 76ers finished third in the Eastern Conference in the 2017-18 season and reached the Conference Semifinals in the playoffs. Many believe they can do even better in 2018-19.

With the salary cap at his disposal this offseason, head coach Brett Brown can certainly improve his roster to improve their season record of 52-30, which was the team's best season record since the 2000-01 season.

They almost achieved the same amount of wins this season than what they did in their previous three seasons combined.

Adding a superstar to their roster could be the difference that takes this Sixers team to the next level. According to Clutch Sports, Brown believes the team needs to a high-caliber free agent to their young and hungry team this offseason.

He said: “I think we need more. I feel what people should most hear is that in the event that we do not get that, we’re going to be very aggressive, and people understand the cap space that we have. In the event that we are not successful this year achieving that, we can reload and do the same thing next year.

"We are completely exploring aggressively all options, and I think we just know we need a little bit more."

The Sixers have a lot of cap space to acquire a superstar this summer, and there could be plenty of them available.

First off, LeBron James could opt out of his current contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, as could Paul George with the Oklahoma City Thunder. As well as this, Philadelphia could look to compete with several other teams and try to trade for Kawhi Leonard, although this may be more difficult for them to do.

Brown spoke very highly of the Spurs star, as he said: “He’s a great guy. I’ve spent years with him, as you know, in San Antonio. I’m reminded of the recruiting process we went through to identify him and the sort of pain we went through to give up George Hill to move up and target him.

"He’s good people, he’s obviously an elite talent and I enjoyed my time with Kawhi in San Antonio.”

The Sixers are in a great position at the moment, and they could become an unstoppable force in the Eastern Conference if they acquire a big name this summer.
