Leroy Sane reacted with class when he was left out of Germany’s World Cup squad. The 22-year-old was a surprise omission from Joachim Low’s team, with Julian Brandt being chosen ahead of him.But while Jack Wilshere reacted to missing England’s squad by joking about joining a lads’ holiday to Zante, Sane wished his international teammates well.“Thank you so much everyone for your encouraging messages yesterday and today,” the 22-year-old wrote on social media.“I’m obviously disappointed I won’t participate in the World Cup but I have to accept this decision and I’ll give it my all to bounce back stronger!“Nothing but the best of success to the DFB Team in Russia. Go get that title!”Germany get their campaign underway against Mexico on Sunday and for anyone wondering how Sane is feeling, he’s given us the answer.

Sane has just tweeted

The Manchester City winger tweeted a lovely message of support just hours before kick-off.

“Good luck against Mexico, guys! 🙏🏾 I’ll keep my fingers crossed,” he wrote.

Sane may not be in Russia but he clearly still feels involved.

That’s great to see, because it would have been easy for him to react negatively to missing out on the World Cup, similarly to how France’s Adrien Rabiot has done.

Sane remains in Germany’s plans, as Low confirmed when he explained his decision to leave the current PFA Young Player of the Year out of his squad.

“That was a very close decision between him and Julian Brandt, which was made in favour of Brandt,” Low said.

“Leroy is a huge talent. He will be back again from September. He had not arrived in international matches yet.

“It was a very close decision. If it was a 100 metre race, it would have been a photo finish.”

We will soon find out whether Low made the right call.

Many are backing Germany to defend their crown.

There are more talented squads in Russia - man-for-man, Spain and Brazil can claim to be better - but nobody gets it right at major tournaments quite like Germany do.
