World Cup fever is everywhere.

We're just four days into the tournament, but football fans have already had a lot to enjoy.

Hosts Russia served up a goal fest on the opening night, Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat trick against Spain and VAR made it's first appearance on Saturday.

And on Sunday, we were treated to the second best game of the tournament so far as Germany met Mexico at the Luzhniki stadium.

The North American side caught everyone by surprise with their fearless approach and quality on the ball, with rising star Hirving Lozano really catching the eye - he also scored the only goal of the game.

Germany's 1-0 loss continues the World Cup holders curse and could see them meet Brazil in the last-16.

And there was one German that football fans couldn't help but talk about on Twitter; Sami Khedira.

The Juventus midfielder has been one of the staples in the German team ever since his tournament debut at South Africa 2010 but now, he looks out of his depth alongside Toni Kroos.

To give you some context, he completed just 79% of his passes, making zero interceptions or clearances.

Joshua Kimmich wasn't much better at right-back, but it was Khedira who attracted the most attention, with the Juve man being subbed off on the hour mark for Marco Reus.

Time and time again, the midfielder left Mats Hummels and Jerome Boating exposed to the likes of Carlos Vela and Lozano.

While Andres Guardado and Hector Herrera had a field day in the middle of the park against him.

After his woeful display, it will be interesting to see whether Joachim Low acts and brings in one of Ilkay Gundogan or Leon Goretzka for their second game vs Sweden.

You feel something has to change for the holders if they're to retain the Jules Rimet trophy, especially if they come up against the likes of Brazil or Spain.
