The pressure was on Ronda Rousey during Sunday evening's Money in the Bank pay-per-view as it was a night of firsts for the former UFC bantamweight champion.
The occasion not only marked Rousey's first-ever singles match in the WWE, but her contest against Nia Jax was also her first crack at the RAW Women's Championship with fans have mixed feelings about her receiving this opportunity.
MONEY IN THE BANK
The fact is, more fans would have turned on The Baddest Woman on the Planet had she missed another significant event, especially since it was clear that it was far too early for her to be thrown into the ladder match which just screams chaos.
Still, she played her role perfectly in the match, and the outcome was quite fitting.
What hasn't come as a major surprise, though, is the fact that Rousey did what she does best. She defied the odds and silenced the doubters by excelling in her first singles match, despite a lot of people being worried about how she would do against someone who isn't that experienced in Nia Jax.
In what has proven to be one of the highlights of the night, sadly, there is something else which Rousey will be remembered for during her title match against Nia, and the fans were quick to pick up on it when they took to social media.
As you'll be able to see below, it looked as if Rousey misjudged where the ropes were. As she looked to get back to her feet, she managed to slip through the middle and bottom ropes before falling to the outside as the then-RAW Women's Champion looked on in what proved to be a blatant botch.
Naturally, fans weren't going to let an opportunity like this be wasted, so they took to social media to poke fun at her error.
Despite that, there's no denying that Rousey was one of the highlights in Chicago in what always proves to be an exciting evening.
WWE knew well beforehand that having Rousey in any match was going to gauge mainstream media attention, which is why she's already dominating the headlines, and that's only going to increase as the day goes on.
There was her overall performance, the botch, the judo throw and so much more. All in all, it's clear that it was a very successful night for the former UFC star.
