It seems like there's nothing the WWE can do right now that is going to please every single fan of theirs, even though they did something on Sunday night which the audience has wanted for a while now.Despite several big names featuring in the ladder match, it was Braun Strowman who emerged victorious by steamrolling his way to victory to become Mr Monster in the Bank, just like he promised.

MONSTER IN THE BANK

Although the booking decisions on Monday Night RAW made it seem like Kevin Owens would be the surprise winner, the betting odds suggested that it was always going to be down to The Monster Among Men and The Miz from SmackDown LIVE, as the two continued to knock each other off as the favourite heading into the event in Chicago.

In the end, it's Brock Lesnar who needs to look over his shoulder rather than AJ Styles, as the rules state that the winner can only cash in on the champion of their respective brand.

So, sooner or later, Strowman is going to be cashing in on - possibly - The Beast, or whoever else is holding the Universal Championship when he decides the time is right to become a singles champion.

The support for Strowman has been visible ever since he broke away from The Wyatt Family; it's why he was unable to be an out-and-out heel because fans couldn't help but cheer for him with WWE opting to turn him into a protagonist instead, and it's worked wonders so far.

REACTION

However, there's one thing some fans on Twitter agree on - Strowman shouldn't have won the briefcase.

It's not a knock on his talent or anything of the sort. In fact, it's the complete opposite - fans think he's too good and too dominant for it, while his character doesn't suit a cash-in. Instead, they believe it would have worked better and been more beneficial had it gone to someone else, primarily a heel.

As you can tell by the tweets, there is slight disappointment that Strowman took home the briefcase, whereas stars like The Miz or even Samoa Joe might have benefited from winning a lot more than what Strowman will be able to do.

Nevertheless, when you consider that a Strowman win means Lesnar might not be Universal Champion for too long, perhaps WWE fans won't be too upset that somebody from the blue brand wasn't victorious.
