It was a tough season for Arsenal last season, but there are already positive signs for the upcoming campaign.A 6th place finish was not enough for Champions League football, fans were hoping winning the Europa League would get them into club football's must lucrative competition but they were knocked out by Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals.Arsene Wenger's 22-year tenure as manager also came to an end at the close of the season, the veteran Frenchman has been replaced with former Sevilla and PSG gaffer Unai Emery.Plans have already been put in place for this coming campaign and beyond, with Granit Xhaka putting pen-to-paper on a new deal as well as Juventus right-back Stephane Lichtsteiner joining to give Hector Bellerin some much-needed competition.Early summer reports suggested that Emery would only have only £50 million in his transfer budget to spend after the expensive January deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but further news have stated the budget has been boosted to £70 million. That gives the Spaniard room to manoeuvre in the market, with a goalkeeper, centre back and central midfielder all being targeted by Emery and head of recruitment Sven Mislintat. And the goalkeeper issue could be sorted as soon as Tuesday according to reports in Germany.Sports publication Kicker have revealed that the Gunners are set to unveil the signing of Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno on Tuesday for a fee of around £22 million.Petr Cech has been Arsenal's number one since joining from Chelsea three years ago, but an increase in the number of errors the Czech stopper has been making, plus Cech now being 36 has forced the powers-that-be to invest in a new man between the sticks.Leno has made over 300 appearances in all competitions for Leverkusen and has 6 caps for Germany, a number only that small because he is being kept out by Manuel Neuer, which is no mean feat. It's fair to say Arsenal fans on Twitter are absolutely delighted with Leno's impending arrival, in a position that has needed boosting for a while.

With one big-money deal out of the way, it's thought that attention will turn to securing the signature of Sampdoria's Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira, who reportedly has a £26 million release clause.

Whatever happens though, it's clear to see that the future looks bright for Arsenal under Emery's leadership.
