Seth Rollins' Intercontinental Championship open challenge came back to haunt him on Monday Night RAW this week, as The Show's Dolph Ziggler shocked the world by snatching the crown from him in a very surprising result.Although The Kingslayer has already reiterated that he's invoking his rematch clause next Monday, the WWE continued the momentum from Money in the Bank which was one of the better events to have taken place this year.

NEW CHAMPION

Ronda Rousey perhaps stole the show with her incredible segment alongside Alexa Bliss and Kurt Angle, while the announcement of the multi-person match at Extreme Rules - so far featuring Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley - has fans excited to see who is going to end up challenging Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.

In terms of shock value, though, it's Rollins' defeat which stands out the most.

The Architect is arguably the most over star in all of WWE right now, and his immense popularity boils down to the fact that he's the workhorse, he's having incredible matches and he's the fighting champion the red brand desperately needs.

With Rollins no longer champion, it remains to be seen how much the Intercontinental Championship is valued but despite the loss, fans on social aren't complaining as much as you'd expect.

In fact, some of them are pleased that Rollins lost.

UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP

It's not about turning on him, or the fact that it could mean big things for Ziggler and possibly Drew McIntyre down the line. It's all to do with the fact that the multi-person match at Extreme Rules is going to need bodies, and Rollins should be one of the names elevated into the Universal Championship picture, and fans on Twitter are in agreement.

Although The Big Dog was the early favourite to challenge The Beast - which still seems to be the direction WWE is heading in - reports quickly emerged that it would Braun Strowman who is given the green light instead.

With The Monster Among Men now the winner of Money in the Bank, a cash-in seems like the more plausible action. Plus, sources did claim that Rollins was also in the running to battle Lesnar, especially since his '#BrockWho' trend quickly gained traction on social media.

So, the pieces seem to fit together, as does the timing of it all so it comes as no surprise that fans are now believing Rollins will put the Intercontinental Championship behind him next week, and turn his focus to a championship he's never won.
