On Tuesday night, WWE made the shock decision to release Big Cass. Although the announcement appeared to come out of nowhere, it's likely that this has been brewing for quite some time.

WHY CASS HAS BEEN RELEASED

Rather than making one big mistake, it seems that a number of issues have been building towards the "Seven-Footers" release.

Things began to go south for him last month when he went against Vince McMahon's orders during a segment with a little person - rather than hitting one finisher, Cass laid on a beatdown.

On top of that, Sports Illustrated report that he was drinking on WWE's European Tour and was seen to be "intoxicated in public" - they also state that he had attitude issues as well.

All of these things likely contributed to Big Cass being released and rather than him doing something massive to upset management, it was more of a final straw kind of case and a build-up of multiple problems.

REACTION TO HIS RELEASE

As already mentioned, WWE gave no warning before releasing Cass - and the announcement came out of nowhere, hours before SmackDown Live went on the air.

But despite taking people by surprise, it hasn't stopped them from reacting. And one person in particular, quickly took to Twitter to respond to the news.

That was his former friend and tag team partner, Enzo Amore.

ENZO REACTS

Amore, who now goes by the name of "real1" on social media, posted one simple question. "How you doin?"

That's surely not a coincidence. It's no secret that Enzo and Big Cass haven't been speaking since SummerSlam last year - when the latter was injured during their Brooklyn Street Fight.

Clearly, there's still a bit of ill feeling - certainly on Amore's part, because it appears he has absolutely no compassion for his former friend.

Although, it's hard to blame him, especially considering he was released himself earlier this year too.

It's funny though, how quickly things can change in the WWE. Just less than a year ago, the pair had one of the hottest feuds of the year. But now, neither are left in the company.
