Although WWE made a significant release this week in the form of Big Cass, there is still a lot of focus on stars returning or signing with the company.Perhaps the biggest name linked with WWE recently is Kenny Omega, with the company's continued references of the IWGP Heavyweight Champion suggesting they are confident in snatching him from NJPW's clutches, along with The Young Bucks when their contracts expire in January 2019.

RETURNS

Last week, the focus fell on Dean Ambrose as reports had emerged stating that The Lunatic Fringe moved one step closer to a return as he was spotted at the Performance Center.

Most recently, though, we saw the return of James Ellsworth at Money in the Bank, as the chinless wonder pulled out of an event in China to return and help Carmella defeat Asuka to retain the SmackDown Women's Championship.

However, there's another return that is expected to take place this year, and the man in question has also confirmed that the two sides are talking.

Ever since he returned at the Royal Rumble - and the Greatest Royal Rumble - there has been increased talk of Rey Mysterio possibly returning to WWE, despite currently performing for other promotions.

One of the biggest questions regarding his return, however, is whether or not he's ever going to come back on a full-time basis or whether it will continue to be sporadic returns. Now, though Mysterio has confirmed that he and WWE are in contract talks regarding a three-year deal.

MYSTERIO

Speaking about negotiations during the official announcement of 'Rey Mysterio Day' in San Diego, the former WWE Champion has claimed that if his body can hold up, the deal will be for three years.

He said: "I’m actually getting ready to go back to possibly a WWE contract, so – we’re talking about another three years if my body hangs tight and holds on.”

Mysterio might be getting older now, but his performances suggest he's still in prime with the way he manages to move in the ring.

He also still has a lot to offer to the company, whether it's in the cruiserweight division or on either Monday Night RAW or SmackDown LIVE. Plus, he already displayed an interest in forming an alliance with the likes of Sin Cara, Kalisto and Andrade 'Cien' Almas.

The rosters are already stacked, but it's evident with the way Vince McMahon is chasing Mysterio that he still holds him in high regard. So, when he reportedly returns in September or October, it won't be for a short time.
