Cristiano Ronaldo needed only four minutes to open the scoring in Portugal’s World Cup match against Morocco.Fresh off his stunning hat-trick in the 3-3 draw against Spain, it seemed a matter of when and not if Ronaldo would add to his tally in Portugal’s second group match.Four minutes was the answer, Ronaldo freeing himself of his marker and heading home from Joao Moutinho’s corner. The goal means Ronaldo stands alone in first place in the race to win the Golden Boot - and Lionel Messi will certainly do well to catch him.One fascinating subplot at this World Cup is the Messi v Ronaldo battle and the Portuguese is certainly ahead right now.Messi endured a miserable time in Argentina’s 1-1 draw against Iceland last Saturday, failing to leave his mark on the game. The worst moment came when he missed a penalty in the second half.

Keown's commentary

The plaudits came pouring in for Ronaldo during the Morocco game, with Rio Ferdinand tweeting: "@Cristiano has no chill mode at all! 🔥🔥🔥"

It led to the inevitable Messi v Ronaldo discussion between BBC commentator Vicki Sparks and co-commentator Martin Keown, with Keown making a comment that left football fans in disbelief.

“That Messi thing going on there, ‘you score, I score,’ which it really is,” Keown said.

“At the start of the competition, you saw Messi miss a penalty - you wouldn’t see Ronaldo miss one of them.”

Pardon?

Apparently Keown wasn't watching the 2016 European Championship, where Ronaldo missed a penalty in Portugal's 0-0 draw against Austria.

The 33-year-old has a very impressive record from 12 yards but he certainly isn't flawless.

Viewers picked up on Keown's words and quickly reacted on Twitter.

"Did I miss that or did Keown just say you wouldn't see Ronaldo miss a pen like Messi??? 😂😂 What," Twitter user @GunnerAB10 wrote.

Oh Martin.

We've seen some expert analysis from BBC's pundits, particularly from Alex Scott, while host Gary Lineker provided a great moment with his reaction to Harry Kane's winner against Tunisia on Monday.

But that line from Keown was one to forget about.
