There's been a lot of speculation surrounding Georges St-Pierre's next fight in the UFC. 

He last stepped foot in the Octagon back in November 2017 - beating Michael Bisping by submission in the main event of UFC 217 - and making his comeback after four years away.

That fight saw him win the Middleweight Championship and become only the fourth person to ever win a UFC title in multiple divisions. 

POTENTIAL FIGHTS

Unfortunately for GSP, he had to vacate the belt just 34 days after winning it, due to suffering from ulcerative colitis - which has kept him out of action ever since. 

Over half a year later, it appears that the Canadian is ready to step up for his next challenge.

Names like Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren and even Conor McGregor have already been floated, but there's not too much substance behind any of them. 

And according to his head coach, Firas Zahabi, GSP's next fight might not even have to be in UFC - because there's potential to make a lot of money elsewhere. 

SWITCHING TO BOXING

Zahabi has made it clear that he's pitched the idea of St-Pierre crossing over from MMA to boxing. And who does he think would be GSP's perfect opponent? 

None other than Floyd Mayweather. Of course, this all sounds a bit familiar. 

"I want Georges to fight Mayweather. I keep bothering Georges, ‘You fight Mayweather. You fight him.’ He’s like, ‘It’s crazy.’ I know it’s crazy," Zahabi said, per Bloody Elbow. 

"They’ll fight at a catchweight. Do you think Mayweather is worried that he’s going to be concussed? He’s fought all the top punchers in the world.

"He’s just going to have to worry about Georges’ volume and reach, but he can handle himself, and Georges can handle himself. But the whole world is going to tune into that one." 

AN UNLIKELY MATCHUP

Despite his coaches intentions, a fight between "Rush" and "Money" would be highly unlikely.

Not only is the size difference ridiculous, but Mayweather has made it clear he's not looking for another opponent, after beating McGregor and taking his record to 50-0 last year. 

Still, though, that hasn't stopped Zahabi talking up a potential bout - but if it was to be made, it would surely be one of the biggest shocks of all time.
