Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a move for Ivory Coast international Gervinho.
The 23-year-old striker was linked with a string of European clubs as recently as April, and Spurs boss Harry Redknapp appears to be the latest manager to take a shine to the former Le Mans forward.
Highly-rated in Ligue 1 after signing for Lille in 2009, Gervinho has scored 13 goals in 32 French league appearances following the €8 million transfer.
The Daily Express now reports that Spurs have sent scouts to monitor Gervinho, and Redknapp could make a move for the striker before the close of the transfer window in a bid to strengthen his forward line for both the Premier League and Champions League challenge.
Gervinho had 13 caps for his country prior to the World Cup in South Africa, and the versatile youngster featured on a couple of occasions for Sven-Goran Erikkson's side during the showpiece event.
Bayern Munich were also thought to be keen on the player, but their interest appears to have faded after securing Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben's services.
Having once stressed a desire to complete a 'dream' move to the Gunners, Gervinho would have to prove himself quickly at White Hart Lane to endear himself to the fans should a move be made.
