England made the perfect start to their World Cup campaign on Monday with a promising 2-1 win over Tunisia.

A brace from Harry Kane - his second coming in the dying moments of the game - secured all three points for the Three Lions, who fought hard throughout the 90 minutes.

Gareth Southgate's reaction on the sidelines to Kane's late winner just about summed up how important it was to start with a victory.

Cameras captured the England manager passionately punching the air and hugging his assistants as the players celebrated wildly on the pitch.

However, when England face Panama on Sunday, Southgate will have to be very careful with the way he celebrates any goals.

Southgate has dislocated his shoulder after losing his footing while out running near England's training camp in Repino.

"I might not be celebrating any goals as athletically in future," said Southgate of his injury. "The doc has made it clear that punching the air is not an option.

NO MORE AIR PUNCHING

“We have got such a great support team and they were there very quickly. They were supposed to be relaxing because we let the players have a bit of time off and I am causing them work.

"We are lucky we have a top-class medical team around us, so it was fine. I had brilliant help from them."

England players didn't train today but when they were called for a team meeting you can just imagine how they reacted to seeing their manager in a sling.

According to Southgate, the players were both surprised and amused by his random injury and all asked the same question: What on earth happened?

"It is better this is me than one of the players," he added. "They were a bit surprised in the team meeting and were asking, 'What have you been doing?'

"As always, they were probably quite amused. It is good that we have had a quiet day today so I had prepared the meeting before and we are on to preparations for Panama."

Would love to have been a fly on the wall for that meeting. Here's hoping to no further injuries in the England camp.
