It's shaping up nicely in Russia, with each country country having played at least one World Cup game.

Some of the tournament favourites have struggled in the early stages.

Germany were beaten 1-0 by Mexico, while Argentina and Brazil were held to draws by Iceland and Switzerland respectively.

Meanwhile, Tottenham striker Harry Kane came to England's rescue with his goalscoring heroics against Tunisia.

Both Uruguay and Russia have already qualified for the knockout stages after winning their opening two matches.

But it's very difficult to predict who will go the distance in Russia this summer.

Retired footballing legend David Beckham has revealed which two countries he thinks will face off in the World Cup final on July 15.

Beckham's big prediction

There's still a long way to go but Beckham thinks he knows which two teams will reach the final.

Beckham, 43, was speaking at a promotional event in China following England's narrow 2-1 win over Tunisia.

“I believe Argentina will play against England in the final,” Beckham predicted at an event to promote China’s largest collegiate football league, as per the Daily Times.

“I think obviously my choice would be England to win the competition, but that’s me being biased and passionate about my country.”

It's a brave call by the former England captain.

The Three Lions haven't reached a World Cup final since 1966 while Argentina - who struggled in their opening group game against Iceland - reached the final hurdle in 2014 but were beaten by Germany in extra-time.

Leo Messi, 31, is still yet to win a trophy with the national team but Argentina look like they may struggle to progress to the latter stages.

"I'm very happy that we won the first game in the group," Beckham added.

"England is a very young team, they don't have a lot of experience yet and the journey of the World Cup will become harder and harder because there are many good teams in the tournament."

Gareth Southgate's team face Panama in their next group game before a tricky fixture against star-studded Belgium.

Derby County manager Frank Lampard believes England's youthful side have "got every chance" of going far this summer.

"I fully expect us to beat Panama and that would give us great confidence going into that last game," said the former England international.

"This is a young team and once they get through the group, which I believe they will, then they've got every chance."
