With the NBA Draft set to take place today, there are constant rumours about potential trades that could be concluded.

The trade season officially kicked off on Wednesday as the Charlotte Hornets reportedly agreed to offload Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn Nets.

But we should expect more moves tonight and one team involved in multiple conversations is the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Tennessee-based franchise has the number four pick in the draft but according to Jonathan Givony of ESPN, they are in discussions with several teams about trading it away.

Any such trade is likely to include Chandler Parsons as the Grizzlies are keen to get his big contract off their books.

Givony reports that Memphis "has several potential trade partners, as the Dallas Mavericks, Orlando Magic, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics and LA Clippers have shown varying degrees of interest in a deal."

But sources claim that they won't receive any serious proposals until they're on the clock and ready to make their selection.

Both the Grizz and other teams will want to see which prospects are still available at number four before deciding on any deal.

The preference for Memphis would be to move back a few spots in the draft rather than move out of the lottery altogether.

Bad contract

The organisation wants to add young talent to its roster but they are also determined to offload Parsons - their biggest ever free agent acquisition - and avoid paying him the $49.2 million he has remaining on his deal over the next two seasons.

The small forward signed a four-year, $94m deal with the team in 2016 but he's been hampered by knee injuries throughout his two campaigns.

He's only played in 70 games since joining and trading him would create significant cap space for the future.

Givony claims that the Grizzlies front office is extremely interested in drafting Wendell Carter Jr. from Duke and believe they can take him with a late lottery pick.

Therefore, they could possibly trade back to number six (Orlando's pick) or number seven (Chicago's pick).

Another potential deal could be made with the New York Knicks who are exploring an opportunity to move up in the draft to take Mo Bamba.

The talented center is unlikely to fall to the Knicks at number nine so a deal between the two parties could make sense.

There are likely to be several moves across the league tonight but all eyes should be on Memphis as they could kick off a domino effect if they trade their fourth pick.
