After initially losing the Raw Women's Championship at WrestleMania 34, Alexa Bliss recaptured the title at Money in the Bank last weekend after she won the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match and cashed in the contract later on in the event.

This decision to cash in made Bliss the first woman, and the third superstar overall, to cash-in the Money in the Bank contract on the same night as winning it. This also reignited her rivalry with Nia Jax, who she lost the Raw Women's title to back at WrestleMania 34.

Their rivalry before this year's Showcase of the Immortals sparked out of the Raw Women's Champion decision to undermine Nia while talking to Mickie James. Bliss and Nia were best friends before Nia heard Bliss talk badly about her thanks to a live microphone in the room which Bliss and James were talking in at the time.

She went to find and confront her now former best friend, and a week later, their match at WrestleMania was booked. However, according to one former WWE superstar, there was a different path WWE was supposed to take to cause this breakup.

Enzo and Alexa

Speaking on the Store Horsemen podcast, Enzo Amore revealed what the plan was for his romantic storyline between himself and Nia. Apparently, there was going to be some dishonesty eventually which would have resulted in Jax learning her best friend, Bliss, was hooking up with Enzo.

He said, according to Wrestling Inc: “I was getting so much heat it was awesome that people probably won’t appreciate it until five, ten years from now. Like a babyface transition that I made and on a marketing level too it was crazy and Vince wanted me in that grey area though.

"He didn’t want me full-blown. He had plans to make me full-blown that nobody else knew about, not even the other people that were involved in it.

“I mean look at that Nia/Alexa Bliss WrestleMania blow-off. What do you think was gonna happen? How else could I get full-blown heat? Enzo Amore with the grey area trying to get full-blown heel real, real fucking heat. How do you do that?

"I’m using Nia as a heater to keep my title and I get caught hooking up with her best friend backstage. Bang, that’s how you do it. Nia didn’t know that. Alexa didn’t know it. I knew that because Vince told me.”

Arguably, this is a much better storyline for Bliss and Nia than the one which we were given before WrestleMania 34. However, due to Enzo's release from the WWE, it never happened.
