After 10 seasons in the NFL, running back Matt Forte retired from football. He spent eight of his years with the Chicago Bears after being picked by the franchise in the second round of the 2008 draft.During his time in the Windy City, Forte became known as one of the best receiving backs in the league's recent history - and went to the Pro Bowl twice. In fact, when he left the Bears in 2016 to join the New York Jets, general manager Ryan Pace hailed him as one of the teams "all-time greats".

A REAL SEND OFF

Despite playing two seasons with the Jets, after Forte announced his retirement, he signed a one-day contract with Chicago in April, to retire as a Bear.

The franchise once again sent him off with praise, and chairman George McCaskey lauded the former star "among the best in a long line of great Bears running backs."

Since retiring, Forte has moved into a broadcast career, landing a role with NBC Sports Chicago as a gameday analyst.

But judging by his latest messages on social media, the 32-year-old may still be on the job hunt.

OFFERING HIS SERVICES TO THE BEARS

Earlier this month, the Denver Broncos announced that they're hiring DeMarcus Ware as a part-time consultant to help train the team's pass rushers.

That role will require him to work a few days a week, for a few weeks of the month. And after Forte got wind of this, he's hoping the Browns will offer him something similar.

"@ChicagoBears yo I’m available... vision, route running, pass protection etc (shooters shoot) lol," he Tweeted, quoting the story about Denver hiring Ware.

HE'S NOT JOKING

The former RB's tweet went down pretty well with fans and the media alike - and when stories starting breaking about him "jokingly" asking the Bears for a job, well, he responded to those too.

Apparently, he's deadly serious about the role, quoting one of those stories and bluntly stating that he wasn't joking at all.

In all honesty, bringing Forte in as a part-time consultant would make a lot of sense and his expertise could come in very handy for the Bears, who have struggled in recent years.

He built himself a reputation as being an all-rounder, as he was able to catch the ball and block for his QB when necessary, on top of being a strong runner.

His knowledge would no doubt help the current crop of Chicago RBs - so why not give Forte a call?
