All eyes are now rightfully on Braun Strowman after he managed to leave Chicago with the Money in the Bank briefcase last weekend.

The Monster Among Men was seen as a big favourite alongside The Miz, but his victory hasn't been universally welcomed by WWE fans - even though it looks he's going to have his reign as Universal Champion relatively soon.

MONSTER IN THE BANK

However, fans on social media have since claimed that cocky or cowardly heels like The A-Lister, Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens would have perhaps benefitted more by capturing the briefcase and teasing a cash-in throughout the year.

If speculation is to be believed, then the former Wyatt Family member could leave SummerSlam as the new champion, but only after Roman Reigns finally defeats Brock Lesnar to snatch Monday Night RAW's biggest prize from The Beast.

This week on RAW, general manager Kurt Angle announced that a new contender will be crowned at Extreme Rules to determine who will battle Lesnar next.

So far, The Big Dog and Bobby Lashley have been announced for the match, and early rumours suggested that Strowman will be one of those names involved.

However, WrestlingNews.co has since revealed what Strowman could really be doing at the event next month after what the WWE told people within the company.

CAGE MATCH

According to the source, Strowman is set to feature in a cage match against Owens, someone he has been feuding with for quite some time on the red brand, and that continued this week on RAW.

It was initially thought that both men could feature in the multi-person number one contender match, but a cage match featuring Owens and Strowman still makes a lot of sense for both men to stay busy and relevant heading into SummerSlam.

Owens has continuously tried to take Strowman out of the title picture, but recently wanted to befriend him as 'Monster and man' could take over the red brand.

After escaping out of a Running Powerslam, it's clear that the two haven't seen the last of each other.

Rather than getting lost in the shuffle at Extreme Rules with a Reigns victory almost a guarantee, allowing Strowman to show off his brute strength in a fantastic heel in Owens is the direction to go in if they want to steal the show.
