That's not the only comedy moment Keane has produced since the World Cup started.

The 46-year-old hit the headlines a few days back when he claimed he regrets not ripping Carlos Quieroz’s head off when the two were at Manchester United, to the amusement of fans around the world.

“In his second spell when he came back, for some reason towards the end of my time I found him to be really disrespectful towards me so we had a bit of fallout,” he said.

“He questioned my loyalty and I told him where to go.

“And one of my big regrets is that I probably should have ripped his head off.
