It's been pretty easy to forget about the transfer window during the World Cup.The drama in Russia has had us all gripped, but clubs across Europe have been working hard to try and get deals sorted before the start of the season. And the spectacle of the World Cup hands clubs the perfect platform to scout players on the biggest stage of all.The likes of Aleksandr Golovin and Hirving Lozano have already put themselves in the shop window this summer.A lot of Premier League eyes have also been closely watching France's Nabil Fekir after his failed move to Liverpool just before the start of the World Cup.Complications with Lyon and the results from the medical saw the deal collapse at the 11th hour, but the saga looks far from over. That's because Jean-Michel Aulas - the controversial president of Lyon - has broken his media silence on the saga. And what he has said will make for some interesting reading for Liverpool fans

So it seems Aulas did give the green light for the move and will not stand in his way if he does desperately want to leave.

His tone appears to have completely changed, with Aulas now stating that his goal is to get him to stay rather than saying he will definitely stay at the club.

The president is clearly stating that Liverpool took too long during negotiations, but whether we can trust Aulas' words after his constant backtracking is another matter entirely.

What the quotes certainly will do is attract the interest of other clubs from across Europe.

Bayern Munich's interest in Fekir is well-known, while there have even been rumblings of Real Madrid possibly taking a gamble on the Frenchman.

However, Lyon's hope that Fekir's value would increase after the World Cup look unlikely, with the midfielder nowhere near the starting XI.

Maybe Aulas wants to sell before his value begins to decrease?
