A first-half penalty from Gareth Evans gave Bradford their first points of the npower League Two season with a 1-0 victory against newcomers Stevenage.

Bradford were awarded the penalty when Lee Bullock was brought down by Joel Byrom and Evans scored from the spot to settle a scrappy game.

Two goals from striker Elliot Benyon gave Torquay another three points as they extended their club record run with a 2-0 victory at Lincoln. The Seasiders have not conceded a goal in their last nine league games going back to the start of April - a run of 871 minutes.

Shrewsbury maintained their 100% start to the season with a 1-0 smash-and-grab victory at Macclesfield Town thanks to a goal from Matt Harold while Stockport and Wycombe were out of luck as they produced an entertaining goalless draw.

In-form Wesley Thomas bagged a brace as Cheltenham came from behind to beat Crewe 3-2. Crewe took the lead when Patrick Ada smashed in a volley but Thomas then tucked away two rebounds before Calvin Zola lashed in an Ashley Westwood cross at the back post to equalise. Jeff Goulding won it with a low drive.

Port Vale wasted a succession of chances before Dwayne Mattis netted a late equaliser for Chesterfield in a match that finished 1-1. Marc Richards opened the scoring when he barged between two defenders and finished with a smart shot over Tommy Lee.

There were no goals between Morecambe and Rotherham in the first ever league encounter at the Globe Arena while Ryan Lowe was Bury's hero as he grabbed a late winner in his side's 2-1 victory at Oxford.

Mark Stimson earned his first point as Barnet manager after a drab stalemate with Burton while Hereford and Gillingham gained a point each in an League Two battle that finished goalless

Aldershot striker Marvin Morgan capitalised on some calamitous goalkeeping from Glenn Morris to seal a 1-0 victory against Southend. Morgan pounced after Morris failed to hold on to winger Antony Straker's first-time shot during a torrential downpour at the Recreation Ground and give the hosts a first win of the season.

Northampton are still looking for their first win - and their first goals - of the league campaign after being held to a draw by Accrington.
