Love him or hate him, Patrice Evra has certainly brought entertainment to ITV’s panel at this summer’s World Cup finals in Russia. The former Manchester United and France left-back, most famous these days for shouting ‘I love this game!’ on social media, has been involved in a couple of controversial moments over the past week-and-a-bit - most notably when he applauded Eni Aluko live on air after her analysis on Costa Rica. But on the whole he’s provided some much-needed positivity and light-hearted cheer to the panel, which is badly needed when Roy Keane is on.Evra was on the panel for the final time on Saturday evening for the clash between Germany and Sweden alongside Keane, Gary Neville and Henrik Larsson. He signed off by thanking the ITV staff and his fellow pundits while he also shouted his catchphrase, of course. But before that he provided analysis on what was a thrilling game in Sochi along with his colleagues.Germany had just snatched a late winner thanks to Toni Kroos's magnificent last-gasp free-kick from an acute angle - and the ITV panel had plenty to talk about.

Viewers spotted Evra's reaction after Neville interrupted him

However, there was another rather awkward moment which viewers spotted - and it involved his former United teammate Neville.

Evra was making the point that he felt sorry for Sweden substitute Jimmy Durmaz, who conceded the free-kick for a foul on Timo Werner, when he was suddenly interrupted by Neville.

The 37-year-old, who spent time with West Ham last season, did not hide his frustration with his reaction. If looks could kill, eh…

Evra will have known before joining the panel that his former Man Utd teammate can talk for England. But he clearly didn’t appreciate being spoken over midway through making his point.

There was a similar incident at Euro 2012

This incident was very reminiscent of what happened between Lee Dixon and Alan Shearer on the BBC during Euro 2012.

Dixon was midway through making a point when Shearer interrupted him. The former Arsenal defender looked thoroughly annoyed and failed to conceal his frustration. (Watch the incident HERE).

Perhaps it wasn’t a total coincidence that Dixon ended up leaving the BBC for ITV shortly after that tournament had finished.

But Evra doesn’t need to worry about being interrupted by Neville again this summer. His job at ITV is now done.

Neville, meanwhile, will remain with ITV for the remainder of the tournament. He will then return to Sky Sports in time for the start of the 2018-19 campaign.
