It's likely that Anthony Martial's future is away from Manchester United.

The Frenchman has seemingly become disillusioned with life under Jose Mourinho after spending large periods of last season on the bench.

His agent, Philippe Lamboley, revealed the news a few weeks ago.

“After thinking about all the factors and possibilities, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United," he told RMC Sport, per the Guardian.

"Manchester United want Anthony to extend his deal and do not want him to leave but we have not reached an agreement for several months.

“Anthony is disappointed because he has shown his love for the club and the supporters for three seasons. Without the unconditional support of the fans he would have already asked to leave United.

“Everyone will have their opinion but I think he needs to resume his career. The time has come.”

So, with Martial wanting to leave, who could they replace him with?

There has been talk Mourinho wants to reunite with former player Willian, but the Mirror  understand they are willing to aim even higher than that.

The publication report that Man United are willing to battle it out with Manchester City and Real Madrid for PSG star, Kylian Mbappe.

Although on the face of things this may seem like an ambitious transfer, what is currently happening at PSG may mean he is set for a move away.

The French giants had Mbappe on loan last campaign, and were set to seal a £166million permanent deal from Monaco this summer, but proceedings aren't that simple.

After spending £198m on Neymar last year, PSG are being investigated over financial fair play and could face being booted out of the Champions League as well as being hit with huge fines if found guilty.

That means he could find himself back at Monaco next season, and would perhaps want a move to a club of a higher stature.

Man United have already registered their interest with Mbappe's advisors.

And they would be prepared to exchange him with Martial, who spent three years with Monaco before moving to Man United in 2015.

The English giants value Martial at £80 million, meaning United would have to part with £86m to secure the deal with Monaco if PSG pull the plug on their agreement.

Given Mbappe's quality, that would be a deal well worth pursuing.

However, they will have to battle with some of Europe's biggest clubs to get the deal over the line.

Pep Guardiola wants to add another striker to his squad, and sees the 19-year-old superstar as a potential option.

Real Madrid are also in the market for Mbappe, having missed out on him when he made the loan move to PSG last summer.
