Over the years, there have been plenty of stories emerging about the poor relationships Triple H has with superstars.

While that can put them in unfavourable positions in WWE, it can be argued that bridges with WWE can be burnt easier ever since The Game took on a much bigger role behind the scenes.

SOUR EXITS

Perhaps a perfect example of that is CM Punk, with Triple H's supposed actions of sending the now-UFC star his release papers on the day of his wedding damaging an already-sour relationship.

With the way things are going, the man responsible for the rise of NXT could be in danger of damaging his relationship with Batista as well.

The Animal has revealed that he has spoken to both Vince McMahon and his former Evolution teammate about a return, with little interest being shown by WWE for a WrestleMania encounter between the pair.

However, one relationship which does sound like it's on the mend is between The Cerebral Assassin and Alberto Del Rio.

Del Rio, a former WWE Champion, has never really had good things to say about Triple H.

While he has always spoken highly of Vince, considering Vince was and perhaps still is a huge fan, it's been claimed on several occasions that Triple H is the reason Del Rio isn't in the WWE right now.

APOLOGY

However, time does heal all wounds as Del Rio has revealed that he has now apologised to Triple H when he spoke to Chris Van Vliet, along with some other intriguing comments.

The man once earmarked to replace Rey Mysterio in WWE as the top Latin American star has also revealed that he plans to retire from wrestling in 2019, but not before a farewell tour of all the companies he's worked for.

According to NoDQ, he said: "I’ve always been on good terms with Vince McMahon.

"The other stuff is public knowledge, my stuff with other people. I always take responsibility for my actions, and I know I got it wrong, I made a mistake, and I misjudged someone in that company last year.

"And being the man I am and, of course, I called him and I apologised for that and we’re good.

"They’re just going in a different direction than I’m going. I don’t want to be tied up to any company. I don’t want to sign any contracts."

Del Rio went on to add that he has a lot of outside projects going on, and although he didn't name the WWE specifically, his comments do make it sound like he'd be open to a short-term farewell tour in WWE, along with other promotions.

He added: "I'm in the middle of going from being a wrestler to being an entertainer. I still love wrestling, I still have a lot of passion for wrestling, but I think it’s time for me to start moving on to other stuff.

"I’m starting a telenovela, doing some episodes next week in Mexico. So there’s a lot of things for me out there.

"My plan is to do this year then do next year as a farewell tour and perform in the places that marked me in my career.”

Considering Vince is a big fan of his, it won't be a surprise to see him back in some capacity.
