It's been almost two months since the 2018 NFL Draft took place.

But before that, of course, all the prospects had to take part in the Scouting Combine in February, showcasing their talents to coaches, managers and scouts.

The combine is a great place for college stars to show off their worth and boost their draft stock, taking part in physical and mental tests.

WHAT HAPPENED THIS YEAR

As ever, most of the attention went towards running backs and more so, quarterbacks, as this year's draft class was packed with signal-callers.

In fact, ahead of April, up to five QBs were expected to be picked in the first round of the draft. And actually, that's exactly what happened too.

2018 ROOKIE QB'S

Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Josh Allen and Josh Rosen were all taken as a top 10 pick, while Lamar Jackson went as the 32nd overall pick.

Despite going as late as the final first round pick, there had been a lot of attention on Jackson, both before and after the combine and the draft.

That's due to his versatility as a player and there was even some talk about the Louisville prospect even working out at the combine as a wide receiver.

But that didn't sit well with Jackson himself.

JACKSON'S WORKOUT

In fact, to ensure he was taken seriously as a QB prospect at the combine, he refused to run the 40-yard dash - which is something most other's do.

That means, those who knew about Jackson, were disappointed not to see him show off his speed.

But now, after being drafted to the Baltimore Ravens, he's finally revealed exactly why he didn't want to do the dash.

WHY HE DIDN'T RUN

According to ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio, Jackson explained that a Los Angeles Chargers scout told him about a number of teams being interested in seeing him compete in wideout drills.

"He was the first one to come to me about it. I’m like, 'What?' He caught me off guard with it," he explained, recalling the conversation the pair had.

It's because of that interest that he refused to run the dash, wanting to primarily workout as a quarterback - and that's what he told the Chargers scout on the spot.

"'I don’t remember telling you guys I’d go out for receiver routes.' I’m like, 'No, quarterback only.' So, that made me not run the 40 and participate in all the other stuff," Jackson confirmed.

Sadly, we will never know how quickly Jackson can run a 40-yard dash unless he does it for fun in Baltimore. At least though, we'll be seeing QB, not WR Jackson in the NFL.
