While WWE were building towards Money in the Bank, much of the attention was on male and female singles competitors. That’s not surprising, considering the two ladder matches are the main draws of that pay-per-view, with the winners earning themselves a title shot.

MITB 2018

This year, there was talk that MITB was going to be a little different.

In fact, a couple of months ago, a number of tag teams started hyping a potential ladder match for their division.

However, that didn’t end up happening - even though there were reportedly plans to have a third briefcase.

As a tag team ladder match was scrapped, that left the entire division, both on SmackDown and RAW, in limbo.

NOT USING TAG TEAMS

Two exciting NXT teams - The Authors of Pain and Sanity, were called up following WrestleMania 34.

But they have only just started appearing more frequently on WWE TV - leading to questions about why they were promoted so soon.

Similarly, The B-Team was created on RAW - with Bo Dallas and Cutis Axel entertaining crowds so much that they've been given a title shot.

Thankfully, they have been regulars on TV, but unfortunately, the same can't be said for The Bar.

WHY THE BAR HAVEN'T BEEN ON TV

Sheamus and Cesaro have been noticeably absent from SmackDown since switching to the blue brand during the Superstar Shakeup.

Many people have been wondering why - and thanks to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, we now know the reason for their absence.

Apparently, The Bar have been working all of WWE's house shows, but have been kept off TV because they don't have a program at the moment.

Meltzer didn't suggest when we'll next be seeing Sheamus and Cesaro on SmackDown, but fans will be hoping that it's soon.

Sadly, it seems to be a problem at the moment that a fair few tag teams haven't got any plans. But now that MITB has passed, maybe we'll be seeing more action in the weeks to come.
