It's been a tough month for Mohamed Salah. After enjoying one of the greatest ever Premier League campaign's with Liverpool - scoring 32 league goals - things have taken a turn for the worse.Salah was injured in the Champions League final, which in turn affected is preparation for Egypt's first World Cup campaign since 1990.He didn't play a minute in the 1-0 loss to Uruguay, but returned to the starting XI as the African side were eliminated after a 3-1 defeat to Russia.Salah scored a penalty in the game and was on target again in the 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia on Monday.Without him, you dread to think how poorly Egypt would have done. And there's even been talks of him retiring from the team altogether after he was controversially named a citizen of Chechnya.According to Goal, Salah thinks he has been used as a 'political puppet' by the Egyptian FA and manager Hector Cuper.Their decision to setup base in Grozny was certainly a strange one.

Salah has previously denied rifts in the Egypt camp and he spoke to the media after the loss to Saudi, making a weird statement about his teammates.

Liverpool's star has refused to go the post-match press conference, but thought he should issue an apology to supporters.

He said: “I just want to say that Egypt reached the World Cup after 28 years, some players here do not have the required experience.

"Thanks to all of them and we will back again in 2022.”

Clearly, something is up.

Cuper didn't actually have an explanation for Salah's absence in the post-match press conference, saying: "I don't know why Salah is not here.

"He was with the doctor but I can't confirm why he isn't here."

The report states that Salah was one of the first to board Egypt's bus and that there had been scenes of conflict in the dressing room.

This is certainly one to keep an eye on.
