Although the fans know the WWE is trying to make them despise Brock Lesnar, the company turned that up a notch on Monday Night RAW this week.Ever since Roman Reigns was confirmed as The Beast's challenger heading into WrestleMania 34, the WWE did what they could to portray Lesnar as the evil mercenary.

UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Big Dog continued to bash the champion for chasing money, hiding behind his contract and not caring about the fans or the business whatsoever.

Clearly, that's a tactic to make the fans hate Lesnar, and right now, they do.

It all revolves around the fact that he's holding up the Universal Championship division on RAW, and fans are sick of seeing a part-time star hold the biggest prize the red brand has to offer.

So, when general manager Kurt Angle announced that the multi-man match at Extreme Rules to determine Lesnar's challenger was cancelled, fans were furious.

WWE is running with the angle that Lesnar is having some contract issues with the company, and it's why nobody knows when his next title defence is going to be.

Think links in with the rumours that circulated last week, stating that Vince McMahon still hasn't signed off on Lesnar's next appearance as nobody knows when that will be.

It was also speculated this week that WWE might have Lesnar skip SummerSlam completely to focus on Ronda Rousey as the attraction.

Although, more out-of-the-box speculation suggest The Beast could return to the UFC with the Universal Championship still around his waist.

SUMMERSLAM

However, Wrestle Votes has revealed what the WWE is really planning for Lesnar moving forward.

The wrestling insider - who has shared some major scoops in the past - tweeted that despite what's unfolding on television right now, Lesnar is still booked to defend the title at SummerSlam.

The account tweeted: "Lot of false rumblings circulating about Brock Lesnar & SummerSlam. Unless something is seriously wrong between the two parties, he’ll be working the event, and I haven’t heard that to be the case.

"It's storyline at this point. Brock will be in Brooklyn."

It won't be a massive surprise if WWE is going down this route.

This gives WWE enough time to get even more heat on Lesnar, while getting the fans firmly behind the babyface that does - potentially - dethrone him in New York.

At the same time, the Extreme Rules advertisements still claim that the multi-man match is going ahead, with Reigns, Bobby Lashley and Finn Balor currently announced.
