Ladies and gentlemen, it’s happened, the greatest shock of our lifetime’s.The mighty Germans have been knocked out of the World Cup at the group stages for the first time in eighty long and glorious years - and at the hands of the Korea Republic too.It was borderline painful to watch a team made up some of the finest players on the planet, fumble about awkwardly before eventually falling apart at the seams late on.Mats Hummels missed a glut of chances as Die Mannschaft failed to convert their incredible monopoly over possession into goals.Korea’s first goal came after some apologetic defending in the box lead to the Asian side converting from a corner. However, the true moment of madness came when goalkeeper Manuel Neur completely lost his cool, promoted himself to the number ten role and bombed up the pitch leaving his goal completely unattended.Naturally, Korea pounced, hacking the ball upfield for none other than Heung Min Son of Tottenham to convert the easiest World Cup goal he will ever score, closing out a seismic day in world football.Despite there being some questions surrounding Germany’s squad selection before the tournament, even the most cynical of German doubters could not have predicted such an embarrassing and feeble defence of their 2014 title.England fans naturally revelled in the news that their fierce rivals would be heading back home with their tale’s between their legs but, for one set of fans, the Korea humbling will be all the more sweeter. If you are of Brazilian persuasion, Germany’s incredible exit would have been a sight for sore eyes. After the German’s handed the Brazilians the thrashing of a lifetime in that famous 7-1 semi-final drubbing, it has been four long years of hurt for the Selecao. However, a tweet sent out by Fox Sports Brasil in the aftermath of Korea’s earth-shaking goal might just sum up the feeling’s of the Brazilian public better than any combination of words could.

Amazing.

Clearly, they enjoyed it and if Brazil can get the job done against Serbia tonight, there might just be a rather large party in Rio De Janeiro.

Germany, on the other hand, will have a lot of questions to answer in the coming days.

Let’s hope this World Cup never ends. What a day.
