There's been a lot of talk around Brock Lesnar's relationship with WWE recently.

His contract situation is still not clear - and The Beast could be making a return to the UFC very soon.

But that hasn't stopped Vince McMahon building towards a huge summer storyline.

BROCK'S SUMMER PLANS

Until a few days ago, it seemed that WWE were building towards a multi-man number one contender's match at Extreme Rules.

The winner of that would go on to face Lesnar for the Universal Championship and although it hasn't been specified, that would likely have been at SummerSlam.

However, on RAW this week, GM Kurt Angle announced that the contender's match isn't happening anymore - and blamed a loophole in Brock's contract for that.

Of course, that's all just a work - and we now know that the match won't happen because McMahon has changed his mind over it.

That will probably upset a few WWE fans because any one of six men could have become the number one challenger to Lesnar at SummerSlam.

But now, according to reports, WWE are planning something different and of course, it involves Roman Reigns.

LESNAR'S WORK FOR REIGNS

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the plan is to have Lesnar defend his title against Reigns - nothing new there.

But what's interesting, is that The Beast is going to work a storyline similar to the one before WrestleMania 34.

Back then, he was portrayed to be leaving the company for UFC because he didn't care about the fans. That worked to some extent, with some booing him at WM.

However, the WWE Universe didn't get behind The Big Dog either - so management are going to try it all again.

Lesnar will be shown to leave WWE for UFC again - but this time, he'll be going with the Universal Championship, taking it away from the company.

HOW THIS INVOLVES REIGNS

The goal of this is to build sympathy for Reigns. It's already been shown recently that other stars, including Bobby Lashley, have lost faith in Roman.

Others are going to continue to tell him to step aside and let someone else take on Lesnar, so WWE are hoping the fans are going to get behind Reigns because no one else believes in him.

Eventually, he'll clash with Lesnar again and it will likely be at SummerSlam - although that's not confirmed yet.

When the pair do finally meet, it will surely be Roman who wins - with Brock's whole storyline ultimately building towards helping to get Reigns over, perhaps before he leaves for good.
