If there's one fight which UFC fans think will happen between now and the end of the year, it's Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Conor McGregor for the UFC Lightweight Championship.

Khabib and McGregor's rivalry goes far beyond a simple battle between two lightweights for the top prize in the division, which is why many believe it would be one of the biggest UFC fights of the year if it takes place.

The former UFC Lightweight Champion wants to win his title back, a title which was stripped from him earlier this year. The only way which he would be able to achieve that would be to go through the Russian inside the Octagon.

However, The Eagle's manager, Ali Abdelaziz, believes there's another reason why McGregor wants to fight Khabib so badly. While speaking to TMZ Sports, he said he thinks the Irishman is actually running out of money.

Running out of money

Abdelaziz said, via Bloody Elbow: “The last time I talked to Dana, he seemed this is the fight he wants to do. This is the biggest fight in UFC history, the biggest moneymaker. Conor is running out of money; this is why he agreed to fight Khabib.

"It’s OK — we are going to contribute to him making some money, but at the end of the day, we owe him an ass whooping. We need to get this ass whooping for Khabib and get it out of the way.”

Khabib's manager believes Notorious is running out of money, despite the fact McGregor reportedly earned approximately $100 million in August 2017 for his boxing match against former world champ Floyd Mayweather. Hmmm.

As well as this, Abdelaziz made it clear that he’s not a fan of McGregor, and stated that at some point he's going to get beat up because he thinks he's a gangster.

“If this is what Dana wants, we will do it,” he said. “[Nurmagomedov] doesn’t like the guy. We don’t like the guy. We don’t like his team. We don’t like what they represent. We don’t like what Conor represents.

"I like some of the stuff he does, to be honest, but he thinks he’s a gangster — I don’t think he is. Gangsters, they end in jail or get beat up.”

Notorious is currently facing multiple charges, including a felony, in Brooklyn for his actions during the weekend of UFC 223. His next court date is July 26 and his team is currently working on a plea deal. We most likely won't hear anything about his UFC future until after this date.
