Hatem Ben Arfa has had a rather bizarre career by any stretch of the imagination.

The French attacker has been plagued by injuries for years, suffering a double leg break at Newcastle, and also went AWOL while on loan at Hull City.

After reviving his career with a return to his home country with Nice in 2015, scoring 17 league goals in 34 games, he joined Paris Saint-Germain, where he hasn't featured in over a year.

Ben Arfa hasn't scored in Ligue 1 for the Parisiens, and at the age of 31, he is now in limbo as he searches for a club to once again try and resurrect the best of his ability.

Having been labelled as a potential wonderkid at one point, it is pretty sad to see how things have turned out for him.

His attitude has undoubtedly got the better of him on numerous occasions, not least with his commitment, notably when he put on a lot of weight at Newcastle.

But it seems that there is still interest in his services, with Borussia Dortmund reported to be quite sweet on securing him on a free transfer.

However, they do have unlikely competition in a rather strange form, and it's pretty much unbelievable.

Ben Arfa is currently in the Pyrenees training with French amateur club U.S Castetis-Gouze according to AS.

And the newspaper have reported the sensational contract offer that they have made to him, which must have left him gobsmacked.

They believe that they've offered him just £700-per-month to play for them, which isn't exactly a fee that will entice him to remain in the mountains.

But that's not all; there is also a ridiculous clause that will pay him £27 for every time he manages to get an opposition player sent off.

It's hard to believe someone can go from the sky-high wages at PSG to being offered a salary of less than £8,500 a year.

It's safe to say that Dortmund don't have too much to worry about in terms of competition.
