Eddie Hearn is a very busy man these days.

The second generation boxing promoter is actively working at making Matchroom Sport the best boxing promotion on the planet, and it's pretty tough to argue with his stable of talent.

Recently, Hearn has his eyes set on an epic showdown between two of the best in the business, at least on these shores, Amir Khan and Kell Brook.

He claims the two welterweights would regret not agreeing to a fight, as it could bring in a ton of money and media attention to Matchroom Sport and the fighters themselves.

Khan and Brook both have their next fights scheduled, against Samuel Vargas and Brandon Cook respectively, but Hearn is already looking further ahead and insists he will do his best to get that bout set up.

"After [their next fights], we'll be looking to get that fight signed. It's the biggest fight out there, but both have options," Hearn told Sky Sports.

The options that Hearn is talking about for Khan include potential bouts with Manny Pacquiao, Danny Garcia and Errol Spence Jr, while Brook has options to fight Jarrett Hurd or either of the Charlos, all of whom would present a challenge for the knockout specialist.

Hearn says he is keeping his fingers crossed, that if they both can keep winning throughout the year, they will be able to get the two stars to come to an agreement, as both would be coming in with plenty of momentum.

He added: "But they will kick themselves forever unless they get it over the line.

"Fingers crossed - December, if they can both keep winning, we'll get there for Khan vs Brook."

Brook's scheduled bout with Brandon Cook will take place on the July 28 undercard to Dillian Whyte vs Joseph Parker live on Sky Sports Box Office. Meanwhile, Khan will face Samuel Vargas live on Sky Sports September 8th.

When asked about the potential fight with Brook, Khan said: "I'm the one who made this fight closer, I made a deal with Eddie (Hearn) and Matchroom, hopefully, to get this one done.

"When he first started calling me out, no one really paid attention, I let him bark and talk, now he's getting out of his boots and needs to be put in his place.

"But it has to be at 147lbs, if that fight is going to happen then it happens at 147lbs."

Brook is yet to comment on the matter, but it will be interesting to see what he thinks of the potential for the bout and what he thinks of Khan's weight terms.
