Well that first half was exciting, wasn't it?

France were much the better team in the first 45 minutes in Kazan against Argentina, but the score was level going into the break.

Kylian Mbappe set the turf alight with a blistering run from his own half before being brought down in the area by Marcos Rojo, leaving Antoine Griezmann to open the scoring from the spot.

But Angel Di Maria levelled the match later in the first half with an absolute cannonball from long range, leaving Hugo Lloris with absolutely no chance.

It's brought the kind of excitement you'd expect from a match involving two sides of such a stature, with players such as Mbappe, Griezmann, Di Maria, Lionel Messi and Paul Pogba gracing the same pitch at the same time.

Pogba seems to be back to his best on the field after an indifferent season at Manchester United, but he did have an embarrassing moment from a dead-ball situation.

Earlier in the half, Griezmann cannoned a free-kick off the Argentina post, and after another Mbappe run troubled the South American side's defence, Pogba was given the chance to put Les Bleus further in-front from around 20 yards.

But he blazed the ball over the bar, and it seemed to be rising so much it may have even hit the roof of the stand behind the goal.

And the cameras were clearly tipped off that he had family watching, as his two twin-brothers were captured reacting to the shot.

Florentin and Mathias Pogba were both in the stands supporting their younger sibling, and are both footballers themselves, with Florentin being a centre-back playing for Turkish side Genclerbirligi, and Mathias who last played for Dutch outfit Sparta Rotterdam.

Whilst Matias seemed to be talking to a fellow fan in-front of him, Florentin was far more animated, seemingly frustrated that his brother has spurned such a glorious opportunity.

Class.

Let's hope the cameras stay on them as it would be fascinating to see what they'd do if he scored, or even got sent off!
