Kylian Mbappe wasn't bad against Argentina, was he?Despite experiencing a quiet World Cup campaign up until Saturday night, the highly rated winger came to life in the 4-3 thriller against Argentina and was rightfully named Man of the Match. In fact, it was Mbappe's remarkable pace against Argentina's high-line that set the tone for arguably the match of the tournament so far.The 19-year-old ran fully 70 yards to win a penalty for Les Blues, which was duly dispatched by Antone Griezmann in the opening minutes of the game. And as soon as Benjamin Pavard got France back into the game after an Argentina comeback, Mbappe came into his own and scored two brilliant goals.

Mbappe makes history vs Argentina

A late header from Sergio Aguero wasn't enough to deny France nor Mbappe the credit he deserved.

Given his young age, the inspired performance allowed him to make history and saw him become only the second teenager to score a brace in a World Cup tie.

Who's the other player to pull it off? Just some guy called Pele.

Pele sends class tweet to Mbappe

That's right, Mbappe's brace puts him amongst arguably the greatest player in history in the record books.

The Franchman remarked after the game: "I'm very happy, and it's flattering to be compared to a great player like Pele but he's in another category.

"Still, it's great to join the list of players that have achieved such feats."

What he might not have expected, though, was Pele himself to return the compliment.

Pele is reasonably active on Twitter and just couldn't resist tweeting the man who's joined him in the history books and it was simply class. Take a look at his post below:

You know you've made it when Pele is complimenting you on Twitter.

Mbappe now has three goals to his name at this summer's tournament and will be looking to add to his tally as France open their stride.

Les Bleus looked mediocre in the group stages yet showed against a gritty Argentina side that they can go very far in the competition.

For that very reason, Pele could be feeling nervous about the prospect of his Brazil playing the French in the semi-finals, as he refers to in his post.

And while there are plenty of stellar match-ups still to come, few would be able to top France vs Brazil.

For the moment, though, Mbappe can enjoy a wildly successful day at the office in Kazan and his place alongside Pele is assured no matter how his career pans out.

In terms of that one record, anyway...
