LeBron James officially began his free agency Friday, when he informed the Cavs he would opt out of his deal. The four-time MVP is clearly the biggest free agent on the market and the rumour mill exploded imminently following the announcement, with the Lakers and Sixers being the most likely discussed destinations for James' next chapter. The media frenzy surrounding James' whereabouts since then has been simply ridiculous. LeBron resides in LA during the offseason, and has done for many a year now, but with the Lakers being his most likely destination in free agency, every detail of his life pertaining to the Los Angeles area is being analysed in microscopic detail. Every move he makes, every quote he gives, every single thing he does from now until he announces his decision will be overblown to frankly ridiculous proportions. And the frenzy in LA is already getting out of hand. James has been vacationing in Anguilla with his family and close advisors over the past week or so, where he may have been discussing his options for his next move. The 33-year-old returned to LA Saturday though, and that's when the whole 'LeBron Watch' fiasco began. Firstly, media members had somehow gotten tracking details for his flight from Anguilla to Van Nuys Airport, which led to a flurry of photographers and reporters lining the fences of the runway awaiting his arrival. Various footage of a plane landing speculated that LeBron was on it, and that turned out to be accurate in the end as 14-time All Star soon emerged with his wife and whole lot of luggage, sparking yet more excitement that he could be in LA to stay.

That footage of a plane landing is even a story is fairly incredible, but such is the magnitude of the man and his decision that any tiny move he makes from here on in will be covered in scrupulous detail.

It only gets more wild from there though as a fan posted video appeared to show James' car, closely tailed by a black van carrying his luggage. The fan had supposedly followed the formers Cavs star from the airport to get the footage, which literally just shows two black SUV's and no sight of James at all.

The man quite literally won't be able to step a foot outside his house without being followed by someone or do anything without it meaning something to do with his free agency decision until he makes an announcement in the coming weeks.

It's entirely bizarre, but it really does go to show what an enormous pull James has and just how huge a moment it would be should he decide to take his talents to the Lakers.

For now, LA is in a state of frenzy over the potential arrival of the NBA's biggest superstar and 'LeBron Watch' won't be slowing down any time soon.
