We all know the story of CM Punk's second UFC fight well enough by now.

Simply, he was well-beaten by opponent Mike Jackson, who has come into a lot of criticism since.

JACKSON V PUNK

In reality, "Truth" was in charge of Punk from the very first moment, and he had numerous opportunities to finish the fight.

However, he didn't - and that's why some people, including UFC president Dana White, weren't very impressed with him.

Despite toying with his challenger, Jackson never looked like losing and that leaves Punk in a tough situation.

The former WWE star was out of his depth - so probably won't be given another chance in UFC.

HOW PUNK FELT BEFORE THE FIGHT

Jackson has recently been speaking about his win and unsurprisingly, Punk came up in conversation again.

On the latest episode of the Heated Conversations podcast - host Booker T asked Jackson if he thought Punk thought he could beat him in the Octagon.

"I do believe that he did. I legit felt that in his mind that he was going to take me down and submit me," Jackson revealed on the podcast, per Wrestling Inc.

"I believe that 100%. No man is going to get into a fight with nothing but winning on their mind. I don't believe that.

"Outside of the bums who are just joining for a check, I don't think he was doing it for a check. He could have made the money elsewhere off of his brand," Truth continued.

"I felt that in his heart he thought that he was going to take me down and submit me, but like I said I was at a different level than where he was at. I had to shut all that down."

BEING ON ANOTHER LEVEL

It's clear to see that Jackson respects Punk for challenging him - even though he claims to be on a different level.

But it's odd that he didn't show his opponent the same respect in the cage.

That's a decision Jackson might actually come to regret if he was serious about his UFC career.

President White has already fired him a warning about his behaviour - which will need to improve if he's going to have another fight.
