Liverpool fans have been tweeting Sergio Ramos

One set of fans who seem to be delighted with this outcome are Liverpool supporters.

Why? Because it means Sergio Ramos has been dumped out of the World Cup.

As soon as ex-Red Aspas missed his decisive penalty, Liverpool fans immediately took to Twitter to mock Ramos.

They all have the same message for the Real Madrid defender: this is karma for the role he played in injuring Mohamed Salah during May’s Champions League final.

Ramos further angered Liverpool fans last month

Ramos, who refused to take responsibility for Salah’s dislocated shoulder in the aftermath of the final, further angered Liverpool supporters with comments made last month.

“Bloody hell, they've given this a lot of attention, the Salah thing,” Ramos was quoted as saying by the Telegraph.

“I didn't want to speak because everything is magnified. I see the play well, he [Salah] grabs my arm first and I fell to the other side, the injury happened to the other arm and they said that I gave him a judo hold.

“After the goalkeeper said that I dazed him with a clash. I am only missing Firmino saying that he got a cold because a drop of my sweat landed on him.”

The sight of Ramos crying after Spain’s shock World Cup exit has well and truly made many Liverpool fans’ weekends.
