Liverpool's new signings Fabinho and Naby Keita will report for pre-season training on Monday.

They'll be joined by 24 other Liverpool players, who have all had no involvement at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Liverpool have just under six weeks to prepare for the opening day of the Premier League season, where they are set to host West Ham.

On Monday, goalkeeper Loris Karius is set to take part in his first training session since the Champions League final.

The German stopper famously conceded two howlers in the 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in Kiev.

Medicals exams have since shown that Karius suffered a concussion after a nasty collision with Sergio Ramos.

That may have been an important lifeline for his Liverpool career.

Klopp to assess Karius

The 24-year-old goalkeeper was in tears after the Champions League final and was treated brutally on social media.

According to Paul Joyce of The Times, one of Jurgen Klopp's main priorities upon returning to work is to "assess the mental state of Loris Karius" following his difficult end to the season.

The former Mainz stopper hasn't posted on social media since apologising to the fans on May 27.

"Haven’t really slept until now," Karius posted on Instagram. "The scenes are still running through my head again and again

"I'm infinitely sorry to my teammates, for you fans, and for all the staff.

"I know that I messed it up with the two mistakes and let you all down.

"As I said I'd just like to turn back the time but that's not possible."

Liverpool supporters have been urging the club to sign a new goalkeeper ever since that fateful night in Kiev.

But Klopp may be willing to give Karius another chance.

Karius had displaced Simon Mignolet as Liverpool's first-choice 'keeper last season after a string of impressive performances.

However, his future remains uncertain as the 2018/19 season approaches.

Despite being heavily linked with Roma's Alisson Becker, Liverpool are yet to sign a new goalkeeper this summer.

The Times report that Liverpool are still interested in the Brazilian stopper but "have no interest in Barcelona’s back-up goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen."

Much could depend on Klopp's assessment of Karius this week.
