There was another drama-filled game on Sunday night as Croatia managed to defeat Denmark on penalties.Denmark took the lead after just 60 seconds, only for Croatia to level through Mario Mandzukic just minutes later. In truth, the the rest of normal time was a boring affair, but the game burst into life again in extra-time.Croatia looked as if they would snatch a late victory after being awarded a penalty with minutes to go, only for Kasper Schmeichel to keep Luka Modric's effort out.The game would go to penalties, and although Schmeichel would save two more spot-kicks in the shootout, his opposite number kept out three to ensure Croatia's passage to the last eight. One man who was happy with the result is pundit and former manager, Slaven Bilic. The Croat was in the ITV studio's for the game and his relief was plain to see after his side's progression. He was involved in a bizarre exchange with Martin O'Neill, however, just minutes after the game.It ended in Bilic roasting O'Neill, to which the Northern Irishman simply had no reply.Watch the exchange here:

Here is a rough transcript at what they are saying:

Bilic: "We are a small country..."

O'Neill: "You keep telling us that."

Bilic: "Bit bigger than your country."

O'Neill: "A lot bigger."

Bilic: "Better football players..."

The exchange ends in deadly silence, after O'Neill simply could not think of a comeback.

Well, that escalated quickly. Talk about tension.

The two have clashed a few times before during punditry on ITV, but it reached boiling point on Sunday night.

Why O'Neill took exception to Bilic calling Croatia a small country is anybody's guess.

O'Neill, who is Northern Irish and manages the Republic of Ireland, was clearly not happy.

But Bilic saying that Croatia had better players than Ireland, however, left the 66-year-old speechless.

It was unclear exactly what part of Ireland the two pundits were referring to, but one thing is for sure: Bilic embarrassed O'Neill here.

Brilliant stuff from the former West Ham manager.

Just like Lee Dixon, many fans on Twitter enjoyed Bilic putting O'Neill in his place.

Bilic would later be furious after ITV showed his reactions to the penalty shootout to ITV viewers.

Never change, Slaven.

Croatia now have a great chance of progressing to the World Cup semi-final.

They will face off against Russia on Saturday for a spot in the last four.
