British professional boxer Tyson Fury made his highly anticipated comeback with an emphatic win over Sefer Seferi on June 9 at the Manchester Arena.

Admittedly, Seferi didn't put up much of a fight but it was just important for Fury to get back in the ring, regardless of the opponent.

Fury will need more rounds under his belt before he considers the prospect of challenging the very top heavyweights within the division but he claims he is in the best shape and form of his pro career, even better than when he beat Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.

Nevertheless, the whole circus surrounding Fury's return hasn't impressed Tony Bellew.

Bellew has been eyeing up a potential money-spinning clash with Fury ever since he beat David Haye for the second time in May.

The Gypsy King, however, has publically rejected the offer of going toe-to-toe with Bellew inside the ring.

Instead, he challenged the Liverpudlian to a street fight instead.

“Listen I am not gonna fight Tony Bellew why would I want to fight Tony Bellew?" Fury told iFL TV. "He has nothing that I want, at all. But what I am gonna do to Tony Bellew is punch him in the mouth when I see him let’s see if he can be cheeky to my face.

"I think Tony Bellew is a s***house. I want to slap him in the teeth until he starts crying.

“If you’re watching, meet me up any time, any place, anywhere and me and you will have a straightener. If you’re serious. If it's just for a pay-day, I'll let you off. But if you’re serious about fighting me, I'll fight you out here for free. Boom!”

Well, Bellew has responded to offer by slamming his British rival in his latest column for The Metro.

The 35-year-old will not even entertain the possibility and claims, given their status in the sport, there wouldn't be much point scrapping behind closed doors.

"I’m in the form of my career and I’ve never felt stronger or fitter in my life. He said ‘Oh, Tony and I can fight in the streets’, what is that nonsense? I’ve been fighting in the street all my life. I’m not going to do that now.

"I’ve become a name, I’m making money, why would I have a fight in the street with you, you silly b******?

"He knows that won’t happen. I’m past fighting on the streets, I’ve got three kids. I would never do that to them. Why would I do that when we could fight in the ring for millions of pounds?"

On Fury's comeback fight, Bellew said: "It was embarrassing and shameful. He should put his hands up and admit that was a joke.

"It’s embarrassing for boxing. Ultimately, he’s made boxing look a joke. He doesn’t want no part of me. He says ‘What does facing Tony Bellew do for me?’, well what did facing Sefer Seferi do for you?"

Bellew remains confident he can be the man to end Fury's unbeaten record but believes Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder are also capable of stopping the outspoken star.

He added: "Styles make fights. Does anyone think Joshua would find it hard to catch Fury clean? Does anyone think Fury has the power to hurt Joshua? It’s easy to see the outcome in that fight.

"It’s a brutal stoppage and I believe Wilder would do the same to Fury. I also believe a little fat cruiserweight would do the same. Fury is vulnerable right now. I don’t think he will ever see the form he once saw."

Maybe there are still some legs in this rivalry yet...
