WrestleMania is WWE's biggest event of the year and it often gives the company a chance to create some memorable, unique matches.

Sometimes, there's even a chance for stars who aren't on the roster, or even pro-wrestlers, to get into the ring.

WRESTLEMANIA STARS

Over the years, we've seen the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Rob Gronkowski and Ronda Rousey (before she joined WWE) compete at WrestleMania.

The WWE Universe always gets a kick out of seeing these kinds of cameo appearances, but perhaps the best of all came two years ago at WrestleMania 32.

At the showcase event in 2016, the 3rd annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal was held and 20 superstars battled to be the last man standing.

THE SURPRISE ENTRY

Along with members from the WWE roster, Shaquille O'Neal made a shocking guest appearance in that match.

The former NBA star even managed to eliminate an opponent, before having another run-in with The Big Show - someone he knows very well.

The pair have had a number of altercations over the years - and that led to speculation that they would finally have a match at WrestleMania 33 in 2017.

SHAQ VS SHOW

Unfortunately, that never happened in Orlando, despite plans being made. And over a year later, Shaq still isn't sure why it didn't go ahead as expected.

"I don’t know what happened. Off the court, he [Big Show] is one of my favorite people, the nicest guy, I’ve always been a fan of his," Shaq said, per Cageside Seats.

"I would have loved for that match to go down. But I don’t know what happened."

A monstrous battle between the pair is something many WWE fans have been hoping to see for a long time now - but it seems to be slipping away with every year that passes.

Interestingly, Shaq himself is actually still up for it - and wants to see it happen himself.

A MATCH AT WRESTLEMANIA 35?

The former NBA star, who stands at over seven foot tall, was recently asked about the possibility of a WM35 match against Big Show.

"Is he going to be fighting? Is he retired? I thought he retired? You lied to me, Big Show?" Shaq responded, before suggesting he's up for a fight.

"When is it? Next April? I got enough time to get these back up. You ready for that, Big Show? I don’t think you are.

"Can’t squeeze that, can’t squeeze the rock can ya? I’ll think about it."

Even though Shaq himself wants it, the match is still unlikely to happen. Still, though, the fact he's calling out Big Show again will probably excite a lot of WWE fans.
