After successfully securing the biggest free agent on the market by remarkably sealing a deal with LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers are not wasting any time adding to their roster. In a busy day for the franchise on Sunday, they reportedly acquired three more free agents to play alongside the King.According to ESPN's Chris Haynes, the Lakers have agreed one-year deals with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee.

History

Of the trio, Stephenson's name immediately jumps out as a surprise as he's had a long-standing rivalry with James.

This news broke soon after LeBron's decision to join the Purple and Gold and it led to great reactions on social media.

The pair resumed acquaintances just a couple of months ago as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers met in the first round of the playoffs.

Stephenson attempted to get under James' skin throughout the seven-game series and they had some frosty moments.

But Haynes reports that the former Cavaliers superstar has never had a personal issue with Lance and it, therefore, shouldn't be a problem for them to be teammates.

The defensive guard became available after the Pacers declined his player option and made him a free agent.

After LBJ committed to Los Angeles, Haynes said the 27-year-old became a priority signing for the team and he has come to terms on a one-year deal believed to be worth $4.5 million.

Filling out the roster

Caldwell-Pope, who's represented by the same agent as LeBron, spent last season in L.A. and will re-sign on a $12 million deal.

As a solid three-and-D wing player who is an outside threat with his three-point shooting, KCP will be a good fit alongside James.

Last season, he averaged 13.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game and shot 38.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Fresh off his second consecutive championship success with the Golden State Warriors, McGee has also chosen to make the move to the City of Angels.

The big man was always unlikely to secure another deal to stay in the Bay Area and has jumped at the chance to represent the Lakers.

As a rim protector, he will be a valuable piece for the franchise and could be their starting center.

The Lakers are only prepared to offer one-year deals this summer in order to keep enough cap room available for 2019 when more marquee free agents become available.

The likes of Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving and Jimmy Butler are all expected to hit the open market and the California-based outfit wants to be big players next year too.
