Dave Bridges returns to the Stevenage squad for the visit of Stockport.

Bridges has completed a three-game ban for his sending-off during last season's FA Trophy final and will be involved for the first time this term.

Fellow midfielder Darren Murphy looks set to miss out again after his shoulder popped out during the Carling Cup defeat by Portsmouth.

Summer signing Darius Charles is hoping to make his debut after recovering from ankle ligament damage.

The defender was an unused substitute during last weekend's 1-0 defeat by Bradford.

Midfielder Peter Vincenti, who scored Boro's first goal in the Football League a fortnight ago, is pushing for a recall to the starting XI.

Stockport manager Paul Simpson will assess the fitness of defender Robbie Williams.

The former Huddersfield left-back, who is at Edgeley Park on a non-contract basis, is nursing a knock but is expected to be available as County go in search of their first win of the season.

Simpson has no other major injury or suspension concerns and is keen for his side to kick-start their campaign.

The former Carlisle, Preston and Shrewsbury boss has urged fans to back his side in numbers to boost revenue at the club.

He said: "If the supporters start coming it will give me a cause to go and ask for a bit more money, it's as simple as that."
