England have finally won a penalty shootout at a World Cup.The Three Lions were mere seconds away from victory against Colombia when a last-gasp goal by Yerry Mina took proceedings to extra-time.Danny Rose and Eric Dier came close to snatching a winner during the final 30 minutes, but the dreaded penalties rolled around nonetheless. And when Jordan Henderson saw his penalty tipped wide by David Ospina, you could forgive the entire country for thinking it would be the same as usual.Nevertheless, a pivotal miss from Mateus Uribe and a superb response from Kieran Trippier completely changed the momentum of the shootout.

England defeat Colombia

Jordan Pickford proceeded to deny Carlos Bacca with a brilliant save before Eric Dier had England cheering with the winning penalty.

It was an emotional night to say the very least and reaction was everywhere on Twitter.

Pretty much all the England games took to their Twitter accounts after the game and you can't exactly blame them after such a dramatic victory.

Walker drops two brilliant tweets

One of the first players to tweet was Kyle Walker and the Manchester City man has become something of an expert on the platform recently.

He certainly gives the likes of Peter Crouch, Michy Batshuayi and Benjamin Mendy a run for their money with his recent efforts.

And he outdid himself again with a couple of tweets after the Colombia win, check them out:

Ah, the classic spit photograph and well, the second picture is just something else.

With all the England players running towards Pickford to celebrate the victory, it seems Walker fancied some gymnastics in the joy of victory.

In moments of pure emotion like that, though, it's no surprise he completely lost control.

And while England fans won't be overly confident in their performance against Colombia, the challenge that lays before them calls for great optimism.

No team on their side of the knockout tweets is higher than them in the FIFA rankings.

Sweden lay in wait in the quarter-finals on Saturday, before a crunch game with either Croatia or Russia for a place in the World Cup final.

Gareth Southgate and co. can only take each game as it comes, but everybody knows that England have quite the opportunity on their hands.

It's coming home, right?
