Nobody would have been more gutted for Colombia to equalise in injury-time than Jordan Pickford.England were holding onto their 1-0 lead given to them by a Harry Kane as they entered deep into injury-time.And with just seconds remaining, Colombia's Mateus Uribe unleashed an incredible 35-yard half-volley that appeared to be heading into the top corner.Pickford somehow managed to get his fingertips onto the strike to turn it around the post. All England had to do was defend the resulting corner and they were through to the last-eight - and Pickford was a hero. But Barcelona defender Yerry Mina scored his third goal of the tournament in the 93rd-minute to send it into extra-time.Due to the bedlam that ensued, TV coverage didn’t show a replay of Pickford’s wonder save. After all, it was pretty worthless. But we’ve finally stumbled across a new angle of the save on social media. And although it shows just how magnificent the save is, it appears to show that the ball was actually going wide.

Of course, Pickford didn’t know that and still did magnificently to reach it.

But it seems if he didn’t reach it, it may well have gone out for a goal-kick and Mina would never have scored from the corner.

And if Pickford didn't touch it, it would have spared us all from suffering extra-time and penalties.

Then again, winning on penalties could be very important for the mentality of the England squad.

They’ve now banished the penalty curse and have gained extra-time experience - something they may need to call upon later in the tournament.
