Cristiano Ronaldo is 33-years-old now. It’s at the age where a footballer’s abilities are expected to wane. Their pace should drop, their vision slightly amiss. But Ronaldo showed at the World Cup that he still remains as talented as ever. The Real Madrid star scored four goals in four matches for Portugal, who were knocked out at the expense of Uruguay in the round-of-16.Ronaldo was exceptional for Real Madrid in the second half of the season and while his future may not lie at the Santiago Bernabeu, it’s clear that he isn’t slowing down.In fact, his longevity can be highlighted in the list of the 20 fastest players at the World Cup in Russia.According to the data, via the Mirror, the Portuguese forward is the fastest player at the tournament, clocking a top speed of 34km/h.

The 20 fastest players

That’s the same speed that Croatia’s Ante Rebic has reached.

In a major surprise, France’s Kylian Mbappe doesn’t make the top 20. It was initially thought that he reached 37km/h in the run that led to him winning a penalty against Argentina, but FIFA statistics claim he actually hit 32.4km/h.

Here's a reminder of that run.

And that isn’t enough to crack the list.
